I finally finished the blue scarf I started two years ago for my husband to wear with his gray wool coat. Yet, it took me so long, he no longer wears that gray coat and the blue doesn’t match his new one.
My stash also includes another scarf I started, yarn and four rows of a shawl, a pattern for a hat and the ten skeins I bought to make an afghan.
Similarly, my draft folder has the beginnings of a number of pieces- a picture book, a middle-grade novel, adult fiction and a memoir. They range from a hundred words to forty-seven thousand words.
None are finished.
Is it that they were not good ideas to start with?
Or am I afraid of finishing something and having to begin again?
